Originally from Massachusetts, I came to North Carolina in 2016 to train at Duke Health for my physician assistant studies. Having loved the area and people of the triangle, my wife and I decided to stay. Prior to joining Duke Urgent Care, I worked in primary care for six years and gained valuable experience treating both acute and chronic concerns. However, I have found  that I truly enjoy the former. The ability to help people of all ages when they most need it, and in a setting they can feel comfortable in, drew me to urgent care medicine. It brings me back to the reason I became a physician assistant, to make people feel better. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife, trying new food, traveling, and trying to keep up with our son. I am a native of North Carolina and particularly Vance County. I take pride in returning to my hometown to provide for the medical needs of my patients. I joined Duke Primary Care Henderson in November 2011, and I have truly enjoyed my experience and the patients that I have cared for along the way. I decided to stay with Duke and transferred to Duke Primary Care Waverly Place in Cary in July 2014. This move provided more opportunities for my husband and we were able to be closer to family. I also enjoy women's health and provide services for IUD placement/removal, and Nexplanon placement/removal.
